William Purser has dedicated his life to the art of glass making. At the
age of nine William was introduced to the technique of lampwork.
Which is using a torch to heat solid rods of glass. At the age of Eleven
he was making figurines which were sold in his mother's shop in Ocean
Veiw, Virginia.
Intrigued by the glass and what could be accomplished William was
always ready to learn more.
When William was 16 he began his apprenticeship blowing glass at
Pairpoint Crystal. Working on the press then bit gatherer and
eventually worked his way to hand blown. After fourteen years
William returned to lampwork.
Always striving for perfection which reflects in his work. William has
sold his pieces in glass galleries and mueseams. Being versatile in his
work William has designed and created sea-life, wild-life, plant-life
and human forms.

This Year William Purser celebrates 40 years of making glass.
